Reno Mattress is a structure used for protection of water conservancy, highway and other engineering projects. It is mainly a mat composed of machine-woven double-twisted hexagonal metal mesh, and its mesh shape is hexagonal. This hexagonal mesh structure makes the Reno Mattress have good stability and flexibility. There are thicker edge wires around the mat, which are used to strengthen the edge of the Reno Mattress to prevent the edge from being damaged during use. Moreover, Reno Mattress are generally equipped with special connection accessories so that multiple mats can be connected to each other during construction to form a continuous protection system.

1. All Reno mattresses are manufactured in accordance with the requirements of BS EN 10223-3:2013.
2. All wires comply with the standards of BS EN 10218-2:2012 and BS EN 10223-3:2013.
And the ultimate tensile strength is between 350 and 500 N/mm².
3. All wires used in gabion production or accessories shall be coated with zinc or alloy with 90% of zinc and 10% of aluminum in accordance with the standards of BS EN 10244-2:2009 (Class A) and additionally coated with extruded organic polymer powder (gray, green) which meets the standard of the radial thickness of 0.5 mm. This organic polymer powder coating complies with the standard of BS EN 10245-2:2011.
Galvanized wire: The amount of galvanizing zinc can reach 40-280 g per square meter.
Galfan wire: Also known as Aluminum-Zinc Coated Wire (10% of Al), its zinc weight ranges from 200g to 500g per square meter.
PVC coated wire: The inner wire is galvanized wire or zinc-aluminum alloy-coated (with 90% of zinc and 10% of aluminum), and its regular colors are gray and green.
The reno mattress is a double twisted hexagonal woven galvanized steel mesh compartment basket with a rectangular mattress shape. The compartments or units of a reno mattress are of the same size and dimensions, formed by internal diaphragms placed within the basket, which distribute the stone fillings evenly throughout the mattress even after the structure is moved. The even distribution of the stone fillings ensures that the reno mattress remains in close contact with the foundation soil.
For easy handling and shipping, mattresses will be folded and put flat in bundles of 25. Covers come in individual bundles or rolls for larger mattress units.
Step 1:
Firstly, roll out a single mattress on a flat, hard surface and punch out any kinks. Then lift the two long sides and both end panels upright and secure the mattress in place by tying the edge selvage cords together.
Step 2:
The vertical edges of all interior diaphragms are attached to the sides and laced with type wire or approved interlocking wire fasteners.
Step 3:
The assembled mattress is then aligned into the desired position and tied or fastened to the adjacent mattress along the length of the entire edge selvage cords. The mattress unit should be positioned properly so that there is minimal movement of the rock fillings within the cage due to gravity or flowing electrical current. Therefore, on a slope, the mattress should be placed with its internal diaphragm at right angles to the direction of the slope. On a riverbed, place the mattress with the inner membrane at right angles to the direction of the water flow.
Step 4:
Place stones into compartments (cells). If it's an incline, start to place stones at the bottom. One or more mattresses can be filled at the same time.
Step 5:
Schedule the installation by having the stone injection person well ahead of the cover placement person. Covers or top panels must be securely tied or fastened to the side and end panels, and to the tops of interior partitions.
Step 6:
The mattress can be stretched or cut into different shapes and tied in the desired shape when necessary. For example, when the mattress is laid on a radius, to achieve sharp curves, maybe the mattress should be cut diagonally into triangular sections and its open sides should be tied and fastened securely to the full side panels.
